ZTE introduces Snapdragon 820 Axon 7

5.5 inch Axon 7 will initially launch in China, but it will eventually be available in the US and Europe as well. Smartphone flagship have 2560 x 1440 pixel AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage. Version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage also will be available.


ZTE says the Axon 7 will also be one of the first phones to supports Google's new virtual reality platform called Daydream. It has a 9-axis gyroscope for accurate motion detection, and an 18ms delay to help reduce the queasiness some people can get when wearing VR headsets. There's also a new Daydream-compatible VR headset called ZTE VR with a 96 degree field of vision and adaptive pupil distance.

ZTE Axon 7 offers flagship specs at a slightly lower-than-flagship price: the phone is expected to sell for $450 and up in the US.
